We build a lot of ponds and waterfalls. Even if the construction is finished and water is added, We have come to firmly believe that its not finished until plants are added. Plants inside the pond and out make the water feature more inviting. Your pond was probably built for more than one reason, and one of them usually is to draw people to it. Without the addition of plants your pond doesn’t have a majority of its personality. With the right plants in the right place, your pond is a jewel, without plants your pond is a water hole.

Ponds are a funny kind of animal. Two neighbors could have what appears to be pretty similar ponds, however small things could make them function differently.Things like a stand of trees next to the property or a hill behind the house or even being closer to the freeway could alter how your pond works. A well functioning pond can be expected in almost any location, but the particular location should be observed before and during the pond design .

This is the time of the year that the phone starts ringing for pond maintenance. Most of the time people ask for a clean out ,tune up,touch up,or even service, but no matter what you call it. The pond needs attention. It might be a simple bulb change or a full clean out.Maintenance could be a one time thing or an on going service. Every pond will need something a little different than the last .

No matter what it is you need for your pond, make sure that the person doing the work is experienced in ponds,( its not the same as pools). Sometimes more damage can be done by an inexperienced hand than if it had never been touched at all.

Even with all the recent rain we still need to use the water we have efficiently. It might be a rain garden ,rain barrels, or even a under ground rain water harvest system, but its obvious that this subject isn’t going away.

We are one of a growing number of companies that have achieved the Certification of Rainxchange professionals. This puts Waterscape Garden Designs on the edge of water harvesting and its applications. We not only advise you on what might be the correct option for your specific water needs, but we can install it, supplying a start to finish project.

Most natural style pond builders may have started with a knack for the job.Like a painter he usually honed his skill over many hours of study and practice. The same is true for all the great natural style pond builders. A common statement you will hear when pond builders congregate is ” I learn something every time “.

One of the ultimate compliments a natural style pond builder can hear is ” I thought the pond was real” This usually means that the viewer con-not tell the difference between the man made pond and the nature made pond. This pond builders goal usually was in fact just that. If his creation can pass for natural ,then he has built a perfect forgery!

I like this type of work because it brings us in contact with other peoples ways of doing ponds, sometimes we learn a new or better way of doing something or a way we never want to do something either way it is always a learning experience.
